No. Most of the motorized shades we install run on quiet rechargeable battery motors hidden inside the shade — no electrician, no visible wiring, nothing on the wall. Depending on use, batteries recharge about once or twice a year with a simple magnetic charger. Plug-in power is available where an outlet is handy, and hardwiring is a great option during new construction or remodeling.

Both. We motorize blinds as well as shades — including wood and faux-wood blinds with motorized tilt — plus custom drapery tracks and vertical treatments for sliders and patio doors. Everything runs from the same remote, app, or voice assistant, so a house can mix blinds, shades, and drapery on one system.

Many Hunter Douglas shades can be retrofitted with a motor, and PowerView motors and batteries can frequently be serviced or replaced rather than the whole shade. Yes. Every motorization system we install integrates with Amazon Alexa, Google Home, and Apple HomeKit, and can also tie into dedicated whole-home lighting and control platforms. You can raise a shade by voice, run the whole house from your phone, or set scenes where the lights and shades change together.
