Custom Blinds, Designed & Installed

Let’s get started

Our Blinds Products

Custom window blinds, built to your exact windows and installed by our own team — real wood blinds, faux wood blinds, vertical blinds, and blinds sized for sliding glass doors — never a big-box guess at a standard size.

Faux wood blinds shrug off moisture, which makes them the smart pick for kitchens, baths, and coastal Maine homes. Classic wood blinds bring warmth to living rooms and studies. Vertical blinds keep patio doors and wide openings easy to live with — and most styles can be upgraded with motorized tilt.

Compare the options below, then stop by our Portland showroom at 936 Brighton Avenue or book a free in-home consultation. We measure every window ourselves, so your blinds fit right the first time.

Cordless & Motorized Blinds

Both take the cords off the window. The difference is whether you lift by hand or not at all.

Cordless & Child-Safe

Cordless lift is available on most of our wood and faux wood blinds, with a wand to tilt. Nothing dangling for children or pets to reach, and a cleaner look at every window.

Motorized Blinds

Tilt from a remote, your phone or your voice, or let a schedule do it. The same system can run your shades and drapery. How motorization works

Real Wood or Faux Wood Blinds? The Honest Answer

From across the room, both look like painted or stained wood. The difference shows up over time, and only in the wrong room.

  • Choose real wood for living rooms, dining rooms, bedrooms and studies. It is lighter per slat, so a large blind lifts easily, and it takes a true stain.
  • Choose faux wood for kitchens, bathrooms, laundry rooms and any window that fogs up in a Maine winter. It will not warp or crack in humidity, and it wipes clean.
  • Use both. Plenty of houses run real wood through the living spaces and matching faux wood in the kitchen and baths.
  • Hold them up at your own windows. We bring samples of both to the free in-home consultation.

Common Questions About Custom Blinds

Real wood for living rooms, dining rooms, bedrooms and studies: it is lighter per slat, so large blinds lift easily, and it takes a true stain. Faux wood for kitchens, bathrooms, laundry rooms and any window that fogs up in winter, because it will not warp or crack in humidity. Plenty of homes use both, matched in color, and we bring samples of each to the consultation.

Yes. Cordless lift is available on most of the wood and faux wood blinds we sell, with a wand to tilt the slats. Motorized blinds go one step further, with nothing to pull at all. If you have young children or pets, tell us at the consultation and we will show you only cordless and motorized options.

Vertical blinds are the traditional answer, and modern fabric verticals look far softer than the old vinyl kind. Panel track, side-to-side honeycomb shades and bypass shutters are worth comparing too. See all four options for sliding glass and patio doors.

Yes. We motorize wood and faux wood blinds with motorized tilt, run from a remote, a phone app, or Amazon Alexa, Google Home or Apple HomeKit, and on a schedule if you like. See motorized shades and blinds.

Yes. Every window is measured by our own team and every blind is installed by our own installers, never a subcontractor. That is why custom blinds from us fit the first time, and why you call us, not a national number, if anything needs attention later.

It depends on the size and number of windows, the material (wood, faux wood, aluminum or fabric-wrapped), and whether you add cordless or motorized operation. We quote after measuring your actual windows, every quote is line-itemed, and the consultation is free.

At our showroom, 936 Brighton Avenue in Portland: Monday to Friday 8 AM to 5 PM and Saturday 9 AM to 1 PM. Or book a free in-home consultation and we will bring samples to your windows. We serve Greater Portland, coastal and southern Maine, and southern New Hampshire.

Yes. We service everything we sell, in your home, with our own team. Tell us the product and roughly how old it is, and we will tell you honestly whether a repair or a replacement is the better use of your money.
